UACP (User Assistance Content Platform) team works on SAP Help Portal, aiming to provide an environment to both internal and external users so that the UA community can innovate and deliver the best help experience for our customers.
role
I worked with user researchers, senior UX designers, and developers to seek for simple, intuitive, yet consistent design solutions for SAP Help Portal. Tasks that I have worked on include user survey, user interview, prototyping, remote accessibility testing, heuristic evaluation and improvement proposal for current workflow, updating design system with best practices, and implementing visual components with HTML/CSS.
research
- Conducted research on user preference on dark theme and high-contrast theme by 100+ surveys and interviews
- Facilitated 4 accessibility testing workshops with SAP internal users, including users with visual impairment
- Completed heuristic evaluation on error messages across SAP Help Portal
- Explored future opportunities on accessibility design on SAP Help Portal including responsive upscaling and screen reader implementation
design
- Created dark theme and high contrast theme mockups and design specification based on visual guidelines
- Designed responsive design components to organize various content on long documentations
- Gave suggestions on harmonizing error message display across SAP Help Portal to ensure consistency, language, look and feel
- Updated design system according to the latest visual guidelines and best practices
front-end development
- Implemented stand-alone pages based on design guidelines
- Developed prototypes on HTML/CSS for user testing purpose
other engagement
- Worked as an experience designer for d-shop Light-Up Piano project, which uses conductive paint to engage the user when they play on the piano with lights and sound
- Created a virtual gamified engagement platform SAPatar for iXp Interns to create and customize an avatar with 6 other fellow interns.
